MVHY

Marcel aka MVHY is a Berlin-based selector and queer nightlife maker. Originally from Witten in West Germany, he was first introduced to raving as a teenager at the beloved Goethebunker in Essen.

In 2016 Marcel swam east to catch bigger fish in the Berlin Spree. With a smile that could kill, he charmed his way into positions all across Berlin’s nightlife industry. Serving drinks (and sometimes ice cream) he spent weekend after weekend soaking in hundreds of hours of live sets, buying the music he loved along the way.

Eventually, Marcel’s picnic basket was full to the brim with a mix of Garage, Detroit and Chicago-tinged house music begging to be shared. It seemed time to lay out a big blanket and serve. During the lockdown, while the clubs were closed Marcel became MVHY, the 4/4 swing, vocal chop, swish swish bish on the decks.

MVHY brings to his DJ sets the same fun-loving and carefree attitude he does toward hosting the rave. His biggest achievement so far? Heading back to where it all started to play for the Goethebunker in December 2022 and playing at Bassiani for Eau de cologne collective in February 2024 and Basement in NYC in August 2025.
